Session 11 & 12 Homework

Session 11: Be a Human Relations Champion and Inspire Others
Human Relations Champion
Reflect on the Dale Carnegie Human Relations Principles. How have you incorporated them into your normal behavior? Be prepared to give us a 2 minute talk about how you have changed your behavior and applied a principle and what happened. Use the magic formula - incident, action, benefit.

Inspire Others
Prepare a 2 minute talk that truly inspires your audience. Of course, you've earned the right to speak on this topic because it is from your own experience. You must be excited and passionate and you should be eager to share your topic with your audience. Speak with both logic and emotion and use the skills that you've practiced in the Dale Carnegie Course to moves us to action.

Invite a Guest to Session 12
Invite a special someone to help you celebrate your acheivements or invite someone that would like to have a peek into the world of the Dale Carnegie Course. Remember that our final session is on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 6:00 pm at the Marriott.

Session 12: Celebrate Achievements and Renew Our Vision

Celebrate Achievements
Relate an incident that tells us about your major benefit from the program. This is a two minute magic formula talk. Then, renew your vision for the next 6 months - how will you continue to progress after the completion of the program. State your vision in positive, present tense and powerful terms.

Thank You Letter
Some participants in the Dale Carnegie Course are sponsored by the company that they work for and sometimes a family member will pay for the course. For those, who have invested in the course themselves, often there is a mentor that has supported them through the past 12 weeks. To show honest and sincere appreciation for their support, class members are encouraged to write a letter like the one on page R-34 in your course manual. This assignment will help you prepare for the talk (above) in session 12. Make a copy for us.
